A man has been arrested for reportedly using samurai swords to fatally stab his parents in what the DeKalb County Police Chief describes as a “horrific” crime.

The attacks happened at a home on the 3000 block of Pheasant Drive, report WSB TV. According to police, the suspect is the couple’s 39-year-old son, Calvin Ray Jr.

“It’s a pretty horrific scene inside,” DeKalb police Chief Cedric Alexander told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Investigators said the victims were 73 and 75 years old.

A family member who stopped by to visit the married couple found the victims dead in their bedroom around 4 p.m. Thursday. The two may have been dead for several hours, Alexander said.

Neighbors commenting on a shooting that killed a 9-month-old baby this weekend call the suspects “cowards” and police call the crime “insane.”

During a home breakin Saturday night, 9-month-old Kendarius Edwards was killed and the women who locked themselves inside a bathroom were injured, one critically, reports WSB TV. Police said the gunmen hunted them down before opening fire.

According to police, the baby was shot three to four times at point-blank range, says WGCL TV.

The shooting was part of a violent home invasion that put three women into the hospital, including the boy’s mother and grandmother. Police suspect the attack was retaliation for the murder of Alexis Malone, 19.

Investigators also suspect Malone’s friend, Kayla Dixon is somehow involved in her murder and have issued a warrant for her arrest, the TV station says.

“It’s complicated,” said DeKalb Police Chief Cedric Alexander. “It’s insane. It’s insane.”
“Masked gunman came into the home. The three women took the baby, ran upstairs, tried to lock themselves in the upstairs bathroom. The gunmen kicked the door open and commenced firing,” Alexander said.

A 9-month-old baby is dead and three women were injured after a home invasion near Stone Mountain.

DeKalb County police said masked men broke into a home on the 1100 block of To Lani Farm Road just before 11 p.m. Saturday. Police said three women who were inside at the time grabbed a 9-month-old baby and ran into an upstairs bathroom to hide.

The home invaders found them, police said. The men broke down the bathroom door and started shooting. The baby, identified as Kendarius Edwards, was killed and the women are in critical condition, but are expected to live.

Police believe the home was ambushed in retaliation for the killing of a woman found dead on Agape Way in Decatur on Saturday. Authorities identified her as Alexis Malone, 19. Investigators believe Malone witnessed the murder of Michael Phillips, 29, at a party on May 3.

According to DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander, three men are responsible for the murders of Phillips and Malone. Police identified the suspects as Curtez Johnson, 16, Kemontae Cullins, 18, and Oslushia Smith, 19. Cullins is in custody, police said.

Police believe Johnson, Cullins and Smith sought and killed Malone after killing Phillips.

Officers said a group of people connected to Malone retaliated by ambushing the home of the three women, killing Kendarius. will continue to follow this story and bring you the latest updates.

DeKalb County police are looking for at least two more young men, after a home invasion over the weekend left a baby dead and three women in the hospital.

Police think the shooting may be related to several others.

Nine-month-old Kendarius Edwards died in the shooting at Tolani Farm Road in Stone Mountain. Channel 2’s Sophia Choi said the deadly shooting may have been retaliation for the other shootings.

Neighbors said they’re shocked by the baby’s death.

Police said four masked men kicked in the door and started shooting.

“My sister called me crying she was shot and her grandbaby was dead,” said the victim’s aunt, Wanda Smith.

Police said this latest shooting may be connected to six others, including the one at a party on May 3.

Police arrested Kemontay Cullinsin connection with the slaying of Michael Philllips.

A witness to the murder, Alexis Malone was killed a week later, on Agape Way. Now police are looking for at least two others who may be involved. They’re identified as Cutrez Johnson, 16, and Oslushla Smith, 19.
