Update at Noon, May 30: As commenters have pointed out, Oscar Deleon is a doctor at Methodist Family Health Center — Central Grand Prairie.

Paul Farrow, senior vice president of physician services and president of MedHealth, released this statement through a hospital system spokesman:

“We are shocked and saddened to learn of the recent alleged events involving Dr. Oscar De Leon. Dr. De Leon is an independently practicing physician employed by MedHealth and has been suspended without pay pending review. Before Dr. De Leon joined MedHealth in July 2013, all appropriate pre-employment procedures were followed including a thorough background check performed by an independent agency. MedHealth will cooperate fully with law enforcement in their investigation and will continue to act with care, concern, compassion, and integrity to all those who have entrusted us with their health care needs.”

De Leon’s biography has been scrubbed from the hospital’s website. Previously, it said one of his special interests was “adolescent health issues.”

He remains in jail.

Original post, May 29 at 1:54 p.m.: A 36-year old man fondled a 14-year-old girl in Far East Dallas and tried to get her to send him pictures of her wearing lingerie, police say.

Oscar Deleon-Martinez has been charged with indecency to a child for sexual contact, a felony. He was booked into Dallas County jail early Thursday morning, and he remains there in lieu of $282,000 bail.

Police alleged in an arrest warrant affidavit that family members found text messages on the girl’s phone with Deleon-Martinez in early May that led them “to believe something inappropriate happened” between the two.

The family members told police they confronted Deleon-Martinez, who admitted he fondled the girl, bought her lingerie and asking him to send pictures wearing it.
